Public House. Byname pub, in Britain and regions of British influence, an establishment providing alcoholic beverages to be consumed on the premises. The British pub is renowned the
world over as a unique social centre, the focus of community life, an influence on popular culture, a source of history and a tourist attraction. When the Romans came to Britain 2000
years ago they brought Roman Law, Roman roads, Roman towns and Roman pubs in the form of "tabernae" or wine shops.
When we hear the words "English Pub" most North Americans visualize an opulent Victorian tavern complete with ornate carved woodwork, intricate
plaster, glittering mirrors, rich fabrics, rows of tap handles lit by elaborate chandeliers and brightly tiled coal burning fire places.
Over the past five years I have been developing a plan to open a series of traditional English alehouses. My interest in pubs, the art of brewing, high quality beer
& food, architecture, antiques, classic motorcycles, vintage aircraft and Commonwealth military history have been the building blocks from which this foundation has been laid.
The Spitfire Arms continues to evolve as a result of extensive research, networking, marketing and travel abroad.
My vision is clear - Serve only the best ales, lagers, porters, stouts and seasonal beers available, complimented by an internationally inspired pub menu.
Please join us for “The Spitfire Arms Experience”.
Cheers,
